Design
The Huawei P9 Light design largely matches the rest of the P9 line. However, there are subtle differences between the light and premium models, to ensure its competitive pricing, Hugh dropped an aluminum unibody, instead of using an aluminum frame with polycarbonate. The fact is that the rear cover is made of plastic, which is not so obvious at first glance, however, as a coating, it gives a metal appearance
But what has gone down from the premium model is a narrow band on the upper edge of the back. Again, to keep it cheap, the band does not offer dual Leica cameras, but only 13 MP camera with a LED flash. The fingerprint sensor has also been borrowed from other P9 versions, how well the camera can be read below.
There are small differences between the P9 Light and P9 two dual camera variants on the front. While P9 Lite’s full HD display is similar to P9, Huawei has cut a corner on the display glass. Instead of using Gorilla Glass 4, there is a simple glass cover of P9 Light.
There are a micro USB port and speaker grill on the bottom edge. Although they give the presence of a stereo configuration, only one monorail sound is coming from a port. The 3.5mm headphone jack is at the top of the frame, while the SIM and MicroSD card slot are located on the left edge. Unlike the Huawei P9, owners of P9 Light can decide that internal memory will stop micro SD card up to 128 GB, or whether the other SIM card will fill this slot.
Display
Last year, it was still unusual for mid-range smartphones to be equipped with an HD display. In 2016, this, fortunately, is no longer the case. Huawei created a full HD IPS panel in P9 Lite. Thanks to ‘Intel Technology’, there is practically no difference between the display and the glass cover. The advantage of this is that little dust can be deposited, and it looks good too.
With a screen size of 5.2 inches and full HD resolution, the Huawei P9 Light has a pixel density of 424 ppl. Most owners will rarely see individual pixels on this pixel density only if you use a magnifying glass, or other magnifying devices, the pixels will be visible
Huawei P9 Lite performs well with its non-OLED display. The colors are strong and black and white are good. In display settings, you can manually adjust the color temperature for your own taste. The viewing angle stability is also good; Only when it is seen from an extremely flat viewing angle, it appears a color change. This case, however, is extremely rare because no one really can never see his smartphone from this angle.
Color representation is the main criterion for a good smartphone display. The second glow is Huawei enhanced these areas with P9 Light and, about the brightness, it now receives 450 candles, 353 Candles vs P8 Light vs. Although P9’s IPS-Neo display is also bright, the display of P9 Light in direct sunlight is still easy to read.
For mid-range smartphones, the performance of beating the Huawei P9 Light gets little reason due to criticism.
Software
Stock Android fans may lose interest at this point because Huawei has used his EMUI UI for P9 Lite. With P9 and P9 Plus, Android 6.0 comes with EMUI 4.1, which comes with P9 Light based on Marshmallow. While Google is now system-wide enough to experiment with this version of the EMUI on the tap, there is no Google Now card.
Since Huawei and China’s most smartphone manufacturers are unique, there is a lack of app drawer. All applications are stored on the home screen after installation, and it is left to group the owner into these folders. But Huawei’s adjustment for Android has created many features that are not on the default Android 6.0 Martmölm. This allows fingerprint sensor to be used not only for unlocking your smartphone but also for other tasks. Opens the notification shade on a fingerprint display from top to bottom on the fingerprint sensor. Calls can be accepted or eliminated by a finger because the self can be shot, it is possible to swipe through the images in the gallery.
Unfortunately, it is also unpleasant to report in software. Once again, many of Gameloft and other advertising partners are reminded of the preloaded game P9 Light. It can be really uninstalled easily, but it would be desirable, especially with only 16 GB of internal memory capability, which can remove Huawei Bloatware.
Apart from bloatware and Huawei’s own user interface, P9 Lite’s software deals very easily in combination with hardware. Which is inside the hardware of Huawei P9 Light and how it benchmarks it, you will learn in the following section.
Performance
Huawei P9 Light. It includes the Octa-core ARM Cortex A53 CPU. These eight core are split into two groups of four cores at different clock speeds: one set runs between 480 MHz and 1.7 GHz, between 1.4 and 2.0 GHz of other clusters.
The processor is supported by Mali T830 graphics chip, 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. Later, the micro SD card can be expanded up to 128 GB. This setup creates a smartphone with an octa-core Qualcomm processor, such as Snapdragon 617, looks older by comparison – for example, including HTC One A9.
And Huawei P9 Light is quick in everyday life. Hardly it feels like the hardware is overwhelmed; Videos play without any interval while opening the app and switching between them is easy.
Most games also perform well, as long as you are not really suppressing the P9 Light with the likes of Dead Trigger 2 and do not want any limit on speed on the highest graphics setting. Nevertheless, due to the recession, the CPU will not be, but with its two cores, it will be the speed of the maximum speed of the Mali T830 graphics chip and 680 MHz.
Overheating is not a problem on the Huawei P9 Light, or even after heavy loads, after several standards or long gaming sessions, that Huawei P9 Lite
With P9 Lite, Huawei has created a very well balanced package of performance, power consumption, and heat production. For most smartphone users, the power to give Huawei P9 Lite is quite high. Only gamers should think twice before selecting one because the pressure on the graphics unit to do too many causes anger.
Audio
The sound of Huawei P9 Light is like many other smartphones, two groups of five holes on the left and right side of the Micro USB port suggest two speakers, but in fact, the right group has only one voice, a mono speaker. If it is blocked during playback of music or other entertainment media, then no sound comes from P9 Light.

The quality of the call of Huawei P9 Light is very good. To reduce the noise, the built-in upper rack filters the noise well in the microphone environment so that you can understand the person at the other end of the line – even in the noise environment.
Camera
Huawei was the largest savings made in the camera design device and it gives its low price. The dual camera system, developed in collaboration with Leica, was not used in P9 Lite for the cost reasons. Instead. It used the main camera of a 13 MP. At first glance, almost it was believed. That Huawei has re-used the camera of the Huawei P8 for the P9 Light.
However, this is not the case. The image sensor of the Huawei P9 Light is one-third of an inch in diameter; The pixels are 1:12 microns in size and the aperture of F / 2.0. Besides. It looks like the Sony IMX217 image sensor and does not have the built-in Huawei P8 IMX278, the optical image stabilizer is missing from the Huawei P9 Light.
The sensor can provide good image quality, but only the camera app can achieve the maximum quality, with Huawei P9 Light, one can say that the software. Which is very reminiscent of Huawei P9, the image sensor Receives maximum quality from.
Pictures of P9 lights are visible – at first glance – fast but right under the right light conditions. The quality of the photos decreases with low light and distortion starts. Although you can not see the problems on your smartphone screen when you can see them on the PC.
To reduce distortions, Huawei has provided a night mode in the P9 Light Camera app. Here, a video sequence of three seconds has been recorded and takes an enhanced glow and the least distortion image. This function works very well, but the smartphone should still be kept for three seconds because it requires a steady hand or tripod.
Battery
Despite the price decline, Huawei saved from adjusting the battery capacity of Huawei P9 Lite. With standard P9, P9 Lite comes with 3,000 mAh cell. The raw battery numbers do not tell us all about the duration and performance. The efficiency of the smartphone’s hardware components will determine a lot about it. Here is the place where Huawei’s 16-nanometer process kirin 650 is in play.
In AntuTu’s battery benchmark test, the Huawei P9 Lite achieved 8526 points. Which were placed at roughly a Galaxy S7 edge level in terms of data? There is a big battery (3,600 mAh) of the Galaxy S7 Edge. Which could why it increased beyond P9 Lite. But it is still a respectable score from.
In my personal use, after 10 working hours of work. The device was still kept in 35 percent capacity of the battery (beginning with 100 percent). In my day, nearly one hour of talk time, combined games, and videos were included in a single hour, email, WhatsApp, and SMS through continuous message exchange.
Despite strong standby time, charging a device is another matter. However, the Huawei P9 Lite can get two amps and 10 watts of power from the charger. With only one sample and five watts power supply, including P 9 lights in Huawei, which results in slow loading time.
Dismal, but hopefully: our review unit was not submitted. The final sale package: Huawei could have settled on any other power supply for its commercial release.
Price
Now available in the UK, the Huawei P9 Lite is affordable. But not really cheap, its free £ 24.9.9 SIM free inquiries price makes it a kind of halfway home appliance, although. It does shopping around and You can find it for around £ 200.
The Huawei P9 Lite are not widely available in the US. But sim-free international models are found on Amazon and around $ 200. While in Australia you can raise it above AU $ 300. The price is higher than the Moto G4 but it is cheaper than the Moto G4 Plus, but the rivals feel that it is not cheap.
