Xiaomi announces three-axis Smartphone video stabiliser to take on DJI’s Osmo mobile

Xiaomi’s latest addition to its accessories line-up under the MIJIA crowdfunding project is a new 3-axis mobile video stabilizer. The new gimbal competes with DJI’s widely acclaim Osmo mobile and is priced at 799 Yuan (approximately Rs 8,000).

Xiaomi’s 3-axis video stabilizer uses high-precision acceleration sensors to detect the real-time movement of a smartphone. The handheld device offers four different shooting models namely horizontal movement, Omni-directional movement, locking direction and vertical mode.

The brushless motor can rotate the device from 9-degrees to 30-degrees for a 207-degree rotation. The device is aim at mobile users exploring options to shoot professional-quality videos with improved stabilization.

Xiaomi is also advertising its new 3-axis stabilizer as a selfie stick that can be mount on a tripod. The handheld video stabilizer is back by a 1050mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims will last for four hours of video recording. Xiaomi’s 3-axis handheld stabilizer measures 266 x 53 x 43 mm in dimensions and weighs around 450 grams.

The device seems limited to China and Xiaomi has not yet unannouncedly plans to launch it elsewhere. The new 3-axis handheld stabilizer is available for purchase from Xiaomi’s Mi Home crowdfunding platform.

It consists of a brush-destroying motor holdings, which can convert from 9-degrees to 30 degrees for 27-degree rotation without any distortion. This helps the user to provide slow slow motion videos. You can use a handheld or hook it up to the tripod. The product packs 1050 mAh battery which will shoot you for 4 hours. Xiaomi has not yet provided any details which will lead the production to the international market.
