Xiaomi Mi 6, the 2017 flagship from the Chinese conglomerate has had the rumour mill buzzing for some time. Now a new report has mentioned that the phone is being readied for launch. According to the report from GSMArena, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun during a live stream has confirmed the launch of the new Xiaomi Mi 6 this month. Apparently, leak reports earlier suggested the launch on April 11 or April 16, however, Lei has not revealed any specific date as of now.
Speculations have already been making rounds, and a complete specification sheet of the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus recently cropped up on the internet. As per the leak, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is tipped to feature a 5.15-inch full HD (1920×1080 resolution) display. The smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC).

The Mi 6 is also rumoured to sport a 19-megapixel Sony IMX400 sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel front facing a camera. The handset is said to pack a 3200mAh battery and run MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Reports have also suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two RAM options- 4GB/6GB RAM and three storage options- 32GB/64GB and 128GB.

Besides the specifications, prices of each variant of the device have been leaked as well. Leaks suggest that 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant will be available at 1999 Yuan (Rs 18,992), while 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage will be priced at 2299 Yuan (Rs 21,831) and lastly, the 6GB RAM with 128GB variant will cost around 2699 Yuan (Rs 25,629).
But as it always goes with the leaks (with a pinch of salt), we will have to wait until Xiaomi officially takes the wrap off from the much-anticipated flagship Mi 6.
