The recently launched android mobile Xiaomi Redmi 4A today went on sale for the first time on Amazon India and Mi.com. Xiaomi says that in less than four minutes, buyers were able to snap up 250,000 units of the new Smartphone. The affordable Android Redmi 4A was launched in India earlier this week with a price tag of Rs 5,999.
According to the company, Amazon India witnessed more than 5 million hits per minute, and during the peak, there were nearly 1500 orders recorded per second. During the sale, users also complained about Amazon India official website crashing under the immense load. Today’s sale on Amazon India had a ‘notify me’ section for users, and the e-commerce site reveals there were over 1 million alerts.

For those who missed out on buying the Redmi 4A today, the next sale is scheduled for March 30. Xiaomi’s Smartphone will again be available on both Amazon India and Mi.com official website, and the sale will commence at 12:00 PM.
The Redmi 4A is Xiaomi’s latest Made in India product, and it is placed in a segment where there aren’t many noteworthy Smartphone. In the short time we spent with the Smartphone, we found it to be quite good and something that will endear itself to budget conscious buyers. The Redmi 4A flaunts a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB internal storage on offer, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
The rest of the specifications include a 13-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 3,120mAh long life battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.
